Last night mom and dad visited Nicholas as they usually do on Wednesday evenings. They have now capped off his Trach. His nurse from the previous day gave a report of great news that he had been very responsive and that he was 5 for 5 with his swallowing. Hopefully pretty soon they will begin to feed him through his mouth.
Mom and dad said when they first arrived he was very relaxed. Mom told him it was time to wake up it had been too long and she needed him to respond. Nicholas responded to her commands and he even stretched out his arm and pointed to her when asked. Nicholas was also tracking mom with his eyes and continues to get better with that as well.
Overall yesterday was a good visit and we just hope he will continue to respond more frequently and start to speak soon.

To the Trahan family from the Danny & Rebecca Trahan family. We have been praying for all of you, and hope the news continues to get better. Nick would always tell Tyler that "The Trahan's with black hair were all sexy." Tyler said to tell Nick that his other,sexy black haired Trahan friend,said to get better. And we sure miss you coming around Nick. We'll keep praying that your recovery speeds up! And to the family-we know how hard this recovery is, because we had a smiliar miracle with me (Rebecca), and God will bless Nick's life for the Good! Your relationships will probably be the most important things in all of your lives, and that is what LOVE is all about. So from these Trahan to you all Trahan's we love you and will keep praying for you.
Hey Nick! I am so excited about your progress! You are so strong and I know you will keep on fighting! I am praying for you all the time... I can't wait til you get better! You are such a terrific guy with the biggest heart and you deserve the best! Keep up the good work....miss you and love ya!
hey nick its jake! its been a while and i have been praying for you and your family since the begining and i wont stop! i hope to see your soon and everything is looking great! i cant wait to see you and artie is getting pretty anxious also! We cant wait to make you laugh and you do the same for us! Everyone is very exited to hear the news everyday! it just gets better and better, before you know it you'll be back home and everything will be GREAT! You know everyone tells you that you are always lucky when it comes to you being in the hospital and you breakin all your arms and legs like every other DAY! you are crazy! Nick you are VERY lucky but i dont think its just luck, God is on your side and he is with you everyday, he will carry you threw this with the blessings in his heart. We are all angels sent down from heaven, challenged everyday to become closer to God , and then when our mission is threw, we spread our wings and fly back home! Amanda... Thank you for making this site to keep everyone updated. There are alot of us who want to know about Nick but hate to keep calling in concern of family stress.
