Nothing new to report. Time is very long for Nick. I have been taking him to the chiropractor several times a week. I don't know if it will help, but we are open to any type of treatment. The Chiropractor seems sure that this will help in some way, even though it is only to make him more comfortable. It makes sense that after being in such limited positions and after such a violent accident, he would need some adjusting to get things straightened out. Those of you who saw Nick while in the coma and for a long time afterward, you must have noticed that he held his head down and tilted to the side. This, of course, causes the muscles on the other side of his neck to lengthen and the muscles on the tilted side to shorten. Although he holds his head straight most of the time, when he is relaxed, it goes off to the side again. I think the adjustments are helping with that. Who knows, it may get signals from his brain flowing again. We can only hope and pray.
We are in the process of getting Nick evaluated for Physical and Occupational therapy again. Please pray that the insurance company approves it. It not, we will have to pay for it ourselves. It is extremely expensive but we are so very thankful to have the funds raised at the skeet shoot. We have been extremely frugal with regard to spending that money. Nick's recovery will take a very long time and will be very expensive.
Please come by sometime.
Thank you for your prayers,
Sondra
