Helping Hands

Yesterday we had a good day. Eric and I took Nicholas to "Helping Hands" Therapy. We had a meeting with the therapist, Wolf Thoma and he was very encouraging. He told Nick that he "will walk again and play ball". We were thrilled, but Nick is still very sad. Today is his "20th" birthday and he longs to be with his friends, doing all the things he cannot. Please keep him in your prayers today.

We also saw the rehab physician. He took Nick off of two of the medications he was taking, which is a good sign. We have an appointment with the pulmonologist at the end of the month. He will be taking Nick off of the blood thinners and another medication for bone calcification. That will mean that he will be "drug free".

At the therapist Nick will also be seeing a new speech therapist. She will order a new swallow test and hopefully, if he does well, will introduce more foods.

Thank you for continuing to keep Nicholas in your prayers

Sondra

Happy Birthday Nick from: Ben, Hallie, Gavin, and Rylan.

Mrs. Sondra - Wolfe Thoma is an excellent PT. I worked with him when I was at the Acadiana Brain Injury Center. He was a contract PT for us. You and your family continue to be in our prayers ~
