Friday, we went on our first outing since Nick got back from the hospital. Except for the break-down of the van, things went well. His chest X-ray was clear and we have begun weaning him off of some of the medication he was taking. His next appointment is in October and the doctor predicts that he will at least be walking with help by then. By that time he will have been on the blood thinners for 6 months and the danger of blood clots should be over, so he will not have to take them anymore.
Thanks to Tyler Price, Nick has discovered that he can throw his legs over the side of the bed. Although it helps when trying to get him into his chair, he is driving the sitters crazy. I got word from the medical supply that his custom chair is in and they are waiting for the attachments, but it should be ready soon.
Saturday afternoon he looked a little gloomy, but we figured that he was just bored. Sunday was so busy with family and friends that he didn't have a chance to be bored. We put him in the recliner and he absolutely loved it. It is so much more comfortable than the wheelchair. He sat and watched football games all afternoon with Lauren and Blake.
Thank you to Janine and Randy Hebert and Jackie and Keith Broussard for the delicious dinner Friday night. We enjoyed it for two days which gave me a chance to do some housework instead of having to cook supper on Saturday.
Today, Nick walked a little farther with his therapist, Richie. We are so blessed to have him.
Keep the faith and keep praying.
Love,
Sondra

Father we pray that you be with Nicholas and help him to come out of this coma that he is in. I pray that he open his eyes and let his family know that is he ok. Lord let this family know peace and we thank you Jesus that Nicholas has been healing as he has been in this deep sleep.
Blessings, Roseanne

Father I praise You for I know that Nicholas is mending but he has been in the coma for a long time Lord and it's time for him to wake up and be a part of living again. I praise You for I know that when we ask in faith then You answer our humble prayers. Lord I pray that he open up his eyes and be able to function properly as You would have him to. I apply the Healing Blood of Jesus over him and know that everything is possible with You Lord! I wait to hear some good news! Thank You Jesus in Your Name I pray! Love in Jesus! Miz Carol
