July 20th

Today, I have a message for all of Nick’s friends who visit this website…

On my way back from the hospital, Emily and I were discussing Nick’s accident and attempting to make some sense of it all. I’m sure you all understand how difficult it is for us to see someone we love so very much and who is deserving of only good things, struggling to recover. When we are young, we think that we are invincible. We think that bad things only happen to other people and that they surely won’t happen to us. We think that we should be living in the here and now, having the “time of our lives” with no concern for “what ifs”. It is my hope that something good will come from this horrible accident; that you all will see that this CAN happen to you.

It is my wish for all of you that you think twice before you drink and drive or get into a vehicle with someone who has been drinking. Take the keys from someone who shouldn’t be driving.

Please don’t let what happened to Nick be in vain and continue to pray for him as I will be praying for all of you.

Ms. Sondra

Sondra,
Randy and I pray daily for all of you. As parents, we know that it could just have easily been Cody in that accident. We all beg our children to be safe and do the right thing, not to make the same mistakes we did, like drink and drive. We also question when bad things happen to good people. I pray with you that all the kids learn from what Nick is going thru. Don't let his struggles be in vain, take care of one another, even if you make your friend mad that you won't let them drive. We know in our hearts that Nick will make a full recovery and go on and teach others by his strength. He's got a good heart, great faith, and so many prayers. All these things, along with God's love, will help to pull him through.

Know that we are with Nick and all of you every day in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Janine

I have followed Nick's progress through my sister, Adele. Although I don't know you all personally, my heart goes out to you all. The pictures of Nick reminds all of us to remember how very precious and fragile life is. My prayers for Nick's continued recovery and for the strength needed by him and his entire family will continue. Nick's homecoming is just wonderful news.
