Nicholas has been at TOURO since Monday, May 24th and seems to be doing about the same. Earlier this week they reduced the size of his trach tube and he is doing great with it. They will reduce it once more then they will cap it off and then he will be trach free.
Nicholas is still responding inconsistently and has not shown any more awarness. He is more relaxed in his muscle tone and is holding his head straight. The doctors are telling us it will just take time and that every person is different as to how long it takes them to come out of their coma.
Last friday I stood and the foot of his bed with Brendan (his godchild) and asked Nicholas to please point to Brendan if he could see him. Nicholas picked up his arm and pointed to Brendan.
It is a slow process and we are all just waiting for Nicholas to take one step closer to waking up. Please keep him and our family in your prayers.
Our new battle is with the insurance company they are starting to push saying he is not progressing fast enough. We all need to pray for Nicholas to show them that he will not give up and they should not give up on him.

we all love you nickolas and cannot wait until you open your eyes and look at someone or something. we all just want you to be okay. i know it will take time and we all have to be patient(even though thats the hardest thing to do) and wait for you to recover yourself. well we're still all praying and we'll never forget you so stay strong, and keep showing me, meagan, n lauren the bird!!haha..well we love you nick....

Hey I know you will get better Nick you are very strong...and i miss seeing you around with that big beautiful smile of yours...I was lookin through sum pics and found a pic of me and you when u escourted me my sr. year and from 8th grade social ha old huh??? you and your family are in my prayers.....if yall need any thing let me know!
We are sending our love and prayers your way everyday. Hang in there and remember what is considered a small or minor improvement is actually a giant accomplishment in the grand scheme of things. Please do not lose hope. God will take care of the rest.
