June 26th

Nicholas continues to become more and more alert with each passing day. He is still not out of his coma, but he continues to open his eyes more and more and for longer periods of time. It seems like he is awake now most of the day following us as we walk across the room trying to focus on us by squinting his right eye.

He is very consistent with his responses and tries new things when he has the energy. He will make light moaning and grunting sounds and we are hoping he will continue to try and speak to us. We are now praying he can become more forceful with his swallowing so he can receive food through his mouth.

He did get a touch of pneumonia late last week but it seems to have cleared up. We are hopeful the insurance company will back off and let Nicholas get the best care he can.

Please keep praying because God hears our prayers and he is helping Nicholas along in this journey.

Sunday in church the message was not to question why God lets things happen to us, rather for us to understand God wants to be with us during our tough times.

I never read horoscopes but this morning I decided to read Nicholas's online and this is what it said:

SCORPIO (Oct 23 - Nov 22): You have more stability now than you might realize, even if you feel as if you are lost in a deep fog. The thicker the mists, the more you need to rely on your intuition to figure out what is hidden in the clouds. Surround yourself with caring friends, for they can give you the support that you need. You can maintain your direction with the inspiration of others, no matter how distorted your vision is at this time.

I felt the horoscope and the message Sunday where signs that we just need to be patient and know Nicholas will do things in his own time.
