June 13th

Nicholas had a good day Friday, and is starting to get better with his swallowing exercises. Adam was there for his therapy sessions and he responded very well. Every time Adam would speak to Nicholas or the therapist Nicholas would turn his head toward Adam. The therapist had never seen Nicholas do that and she was very excited about. The Occupational Therapist also explained how well Nicholas responds to stimuli with his facial expressions and that he will make definite expressions to unwanted stimuli.

The rest of the weekend Nicholas did not respond that well to the family he was very relaxed and unresponsive. Meagan was able to give him his first haircut since the accident and that went very well. We can only imagine how pretty boy would hate not to have his hair looking good. Ha Ha!!

The case worker, doctors and therapists all met this morning to have their weekly evaluation. They told mom Nicholas is responding more consistently and is progressing. The therapist told mom about how Nicholas responding to Adam during therapy and how she was very encouraged by this. Mom asked if us being there during therapy would help in his progression and they all felt he responds to his family more than them. With that said we are trying to work out a schedule so that one of the family members can be with him everyday during therapy.

The insurance company approved him for another week with no hesitation!! Nicholas is fighting very hard to wake up and he is not going to let anything keep him from recovering.
