Nick's oral surgery went very well. He now has a new front tooth and the dentist was able to clean and repair his teeth and pulled a tooth that was permanently damaged in the accident. He is trying to smile again and is looking more like his old self. I missed that beautiful smile.

A new sitter started today because the woman who was taking care of Nick for the last few months quit the Monday after his surgery. Eric and the children have been taking turns sitting with him so that I could continue to go to work.

The therapist suggested that we try to keep Nick sitting upright or standing as much as possible because by doing this he will learn to balance and be able to walk on his own. We have now moved from the bathtub to standing in the shower. He is doing very well with that and it makes it easier for me since I don't have to get him in and out of the tub.

Last weekend we went out of town and Clint and Emily brought him for a ride. He asked to see where he wrecked and Clint gave him his interpretation of the accident. I know it made him think....

We are so thankful that he now sleeps from 11:00 to 5:30 every night. You can imagine what a difference it makes being able to sleep 6 full hours without interruption.

By the end of this week Nick will have his computer connected to the internet in his room. I know he would appreciate any words of encouragement you may have for him. It certainly lifts my spirits to know that someone is keeping up with his progress and that he is in your thoughts and prayers.

I am going to take a picture of his new smile to post. On the day of the surgery he had me take his "before" picture with his cell phone, but I haven't been able to download it to my computer.

Nicholas has an appointment with the Neurologist next week. Hopefully he will have some encouraging news for us.

I will keep you posted.

Love to all,
Sondra
